WALLOON BRABANT TOURISM
The youngest and smallest province in Belgium, Walloon Brabant was created in 1995 when the larger Brabant province was split into three parts for linguistic and regional governance reasons, including Flemish Brabant and the Brussels-Capital Region. Walloon Brabant is known above all for the Waterloo battlefield but it also has contrasting surprises in its capital Wavre, abbey ruins, modern museums, craft brewers, a recreational lake and agro-tourism.
