Verviers Travel Guide
Once a major wool and textile hub, Verviers still bears the marks of its industrial heritage in museums, factory architecture and preserved machinery, alongside a reputation for fine chocolate and pastry-making. Set in the Pays de Vesdre within the Ardenne Bleue, the city unfolds among rolling hills along the Vesdre River, whose waters gave the region its ‘blue’ identity. After the devastating 2021 European floods, Verviers has been steadily rebuilding.
