Tongeren-Borgloon Travel Guide
Like a well-aged wine, Tongeren—Belgium’s oldest city—has grown richer with time. Roman remains, medieval UNESCO-listed heritage, the Benelux’s largest antiques market and a sophisticated culinary scene inspired by nearby orchards, farms and vineyards all shape its character. Since merging with Borgloon in 2025, the town has taken the name Tongeren-Borgloon, expanding its depth of history, culture and gastronomy.
